Unlock the power of Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy to help autistic clients unmask and connect with their authentic selves. This presentation offers concrete strategies for adapting the IFS model for neurodivergent clients.
Learn how to:
Guide autistic clients through unmasking by identifying protective parts formed in response to masking and minority stress and misattuned caregivers.
Use creative interventions like sand tray and art therapy to make parts more concrete and accessible.
Avoid common therapist mistake, such as overlooking alexithymia, low interoception, and assuming every experience is a part.
Explore the intersection of systems thinking and autistic experiences, including emerging research on endogenic systems
By focusing on unmasking and fostering connection to the core self, this presentation will leave you with actionable tools to help your autistic clients navigate their internal world and thrive.
